Q&A: Alexander M Zoltai

Today I’m interviewing another fellow writer, Alexander M Zoltai, author of Notes from An Alien and Strange Fantasies. I’m sure you all can’t wait to get to know Alexander, so let’s just ask him, shall we?

First of all, could you tell us a bit about yourself?

I was born in 1946 to a Scottish mother and Hungarian father. I’ve lived in over 30 locations—currently, Kettering, Ohio, USA. I’ve always had an interest in writing but didn’t get down to serious efforts till my 40s and I was first published in my 50s. I now have 5 books published and am working on number six.

You’ve traveled quite a lot. How did that influence your writing?

Well, I think it’s only improved it since I’ve been exposed to so many different people, places, cultures, and weather patterns. Also, I think my omnivorous reading habit is a form of travel

What place would you most recommend writers to visit (you can make a top three if you like)?

First, as far away from home as possible.

Second, to the part of your state or province that is most different from what you’re used to.

Third, to really “visit” your immediate area—so many folks travel a narrow network of paths each day…

Where do you generally find your inspiration?

I’d really have to say that my inspirations find me; though, I have worked hard to be the kind of person who’s open to inspiration.

What’s your favourite quote from your own books?

That would be the last line in my short novel, Notes from An Alien—“Patience is our weapon of choice.”

And what would be your all-time favourite book?

The Tablet of The Temple by Baha’u’llah.

And finally, what’s the number one tip you would give to writers?

Read very few books about how to write—and, of course, do read tons of books by excellent writers…

Alex’s latest book, Strange Fantasies, is available on Amazon.

Since you published this post, my blog address has changed; so, for your text link “Visit Alex’s Blog”, would you please change it to https://nfaa.wordpress.com/ — Thanks…

In fact, I’m glad I revisited because I got to change-out your books-link on my post about this post 🙂
